Internal Auditor - Private Banking


Reports To Head of Internal Audit, Singapore and Head of Internal Audit, Hong Kong Job


Responsibilities

  • Conduct and report on assigned audits and/or special reviews with the objective of improving the Bank's controls and risk management, and supporting the strengthening of the first and second lines of defense.

  • Work as instructed by the auditor-in-charge or as the auditor-in-charge. Handle discussion of findings with stakeholders. Ensure appropriate work and documentation to support audit procedures and findings.

  • Validate closure of recommendations.

  • Represent Group Internal Audit, act as contact point with stakeholders and engage in continuous business monitoring.

  • Support delivery of any ad hoc requests by management and regulators in coordination with the Team Heads or Head of Group Internal Audit. This includes supporting the Asia Group Internal Audit teams in Singapore and Hong Kong.

  • Observe rules, legislation and regulations governing the Japanese entity. Monitor regulatory changes and update Team Head

  • Keep in contact with important industry groups (e.g. IIA) to keep abreast of industry developments

  • Ensure adequate training & education

  • Provide input deemed necessary to enhance GIA’s workflows/governance

Essential Skills/ Experience

  • 5 years of audit or relevant risk management experience, preferably in private wealth management and/or Japanese trust business.

  • Understands key risks in financial services. Preferably familiar with Japanese regulatory requirements and expectations for private wealth management and/or trust business.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. A team player with the ability to collaborate, multi-task, work independently and seek guidance when necessary.

  • Ability to think objectively and ‘out of the box’ when analyzing issues and making audit recommendations.

  • Effective communication skills essential for providing guidance to management and discussing audit findings.

  • Japanese fluency and high business standard written and spoken English.

  • Flexibility to travel to other locations (e.g. Singapore, Hong Kong).

  • Degree in the field of Accounting or equivalent.

  • Professional Qualification, e.g. CPA, CA, CIA, CFSA, CISA
